As you can see from her pictures, CH, Swanycoon Sangria 'Rita of TruTails is a very flashy red mackerel tabby and white girl. We are really excited about adding Rita to our breeding program! She is the daughter of our very own Duffy (aka TruTails Wildfire) bringing back to us our 'Calypso' lines. In addition, Rita brings to us some very exciting foundation lines thru her dam, Dirago's Tequila Rose of Swanycoon, a beautiful silver patch tabby/white female who has behind her such famous cats as Dirigo's Swift River Ruffian!

Rita carries non-agouti and with her high white we're sure hoping she will produce some very nice calico kittens! In addition, her type and boning (Rita is a big girl weighing around 14 lbs at 1 year) should compliment our males very nicely. Rita's first breeding will be to our very own 'homegrown' GC, RW, Trutails Satchmo for our first attempt to make a calico kitten.

Rumor has it the 'red gene' in girls makes them independent and strong willed, but this is one girl who's red gene has made her as sweet and affectionate as her sire! We're sure hoping she passes along her wonderful purr-sonality as well as that non-agouti gene!

In Rita's first litter with Satchmo she only produced one kitten... a very nice Tortoiseshell (Tortie). Well she got the non-agouti right, but where's the white? Regardless, we have one very cute kitten! We'll just have to try again. Rita's second litter, this time with Durango, produced three very nice kittens, born on Halloween Night 2006!
